Hydroseeding is a great alternative for sod or seed. In ideal conditions it germinates within 7-10 days and costs only a fraction of sod while getting sod like results while not getting washed away like traditional seed would. Hydroseed is a blend of seed, hydro mulch, starter fertilizer, soil amendments, and water that is all mixed into a hydroseeder then sprayed out onto your freshly prepped soil to make a blanket like layer. Hydroseeding can also be used for more things other than creating a beautiful lawn for example, erosion control and reducing dust.

I strongly recommend Charlie and Mike. They came around promptly and provided a reasonable quote and good instructions to ensure the lot was well prepared. It took a full day to spray it out in one of the steamiest days of the year, but they worked through it and did a great job. It has been a very dry season, but with a bit of watering the results have been excellent.

Contacted Charlie and Mike about hydro seeding my back lawn recently due to my dogs ruining my back yard this spring.
I had quotes for sod and just shook my head. These guys answered all my calls and texts right away came to my residence gave me instructions on the required preparation. They sprayed discussed how the process works and what was needed to achieve a lawn. I followed the instructions and within 10 days I had my lawn back and now I very happy I decided to use these guys. I contacted RealEscape Hydroseed after finding their advertisement on Facebook. I found them responsive, timely, honest, fair pricing. More importantly when they finished the job it began to rain, quite heavy. The very next day I received a note asking if any of the seed washed away and within 24 hours they were back to touch up the areas that needed it.
